My Lord's Prayer
In a time in my life when I was very lost and confused as to what the Lord had planned for me, I went to a Women's Christian retreat in Temecula Ca. sometime Spring of 2003. We had some quiet time and meditation and this is what poured out of me as I wrote in my notebook. I didnt not stop to think what I was writing. I just let it flow out of me freely. Now, after around 2 1/2 years, He's actually answered most of it, if not all! Even the husband part! I keep this prayer in my organizer as a reminder of things I asked Him at a time when I had noone to run to and so I surrendered my life to Him. It also reminds me that He answers when we call!
Dear Father,
I love You so much.
Thank You for blessing me fro who I am.
Thank You for providing for my needs.
Thank You for my family whom I love dearly especially Storm and Summer.
Teach me to be the mother that would be pleasing to You.
I want to be their role models.
Thank you for sending me people that care for me who love and support me.
Teach me how to pray,
To be more faithful and obedient to Your Word.
Give me strength to overcome the sinful nature of the world.
Grant me wisdom to make sound decisions to further Your Kingdom.
Equip me with the right battle gear to fight for You.
Tame my spirit and teach me kindness and gentleness.
Take my anxieties and worries away.
Teach me to trust in You and not lean on my own understanding.
The desires of my heart, You know so well.
Prepare me for the right man that you have already picked out for me.
Teach me patience so that I may wait quietly for such a man.
Bless me so I may bless others.
Mold me so You may use me to bring others to You.
Humble me so that others may see You in me.
Bring life back into me.
Let me feel alive again.
Speak to my heart, Lord and
Instruct me as to what Your will is in my life and
May Your will be done.
Never leave my side.
Make me feel safe in Your love.
Make me be more like You.
I want to love like You do.
Use me as Your will dictates.
Make me whole.
Make me a light for hopeless people
Let me be their hope.
Make me pleasing to You.
I want to make You proud.
Amen.
He didnt answer them overnight. Its taken 2 years, come to think of it. I hadn't even noticed that He answered this prayer of mine until this posting! Isn't that trully AMAZING!!! The Lord is soooo good!
